The Shane R. Dubois Memorial BRIGHT Minds Program
Supporting Neurodivergent Youth Through Integrative Wellness
Why We Exist
The Shane R. Dubois Memorial BRIGHT Minds Program was created in loving memory of Shane Dubois, who passed away from an overdose at age 21. Long before terms like “neurodivergence” were common, Shane was labeled—hyperactive, inattentive, disruptive—when in truth, he was deeply sensitive and in pain. Like many children navigating trauma, Shane struggled to be understood. At 8 years old, he tried to share something no child should ever experience. But the support systems around him didn’t have the tools to respond.
This program is Shane’s legacy.
We believe no child should suffer in silence. No youth should be dismissed or misjudged for the way their brain or body processes the world. And no family should have to grieve a preventable loss.
This work is our vow: To meet neurodivergent youth with compassion, tools, and community—before it’s too late.

This school-based, afterschool wellness program is designed to support neurodivergent youth – particularly those with ADHD, autism spectrum traits, sensory sensitivities, and trauma backgrounds – using evidence-informed, culturally inclusive, and spiritually grounded healing modalities.
Each session offers a blend of:
- Traditional Chinese Medicine principles
- Sound healing and frequency work
- Movement practices (yoga, qigong, martial-informed flow)
- Art and journaling for expression and integration
- Mindfulness, breathwork, and emotional regulation

All BRIGHT Minds instructors are required to complete a training program designed to prepare them to lead trauma-informed, integrative wellness sessions with neurodivergent youth. The training includes live cohort sessions and self-paced video modules covering Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles, facilitation skills, classroom management, and youth-centered healing tools. Each facilitator receives a certification upon completion.
