Renewing Rescuers with Integrative Wellness

Those who care for everyone deserve care too.

Hospital professionals spend their days caring for people through some of life’s most difficult moments.

But who is caring for them?

Renewing Rescuers with Integrative Wellness brings restorative, hands-on wellness experiences directly into hospitals for the physicians, nurses, residents, social workers, behavioral health teams, and staff who give so much of themselves every day.

Through Traditional Chinese Medicine-inspired practices, Tui Na, ear acupressure seeds, healing harp and sound, aromatherapy, meditation, and Tao Calligraphy practices, we create a place within the hospital day where caregivers can pause, receive, and reconnect.

Our purpose is simple:

Reduce stress. Help prevent burnout. Restore emotional, mental, and physical balance for the people who care for all of us.

Care for the Caregivers

Working in healthcare asks an extraordinary amount of the human body and spirit.

Long hours. High-pressure decisions. Physical demands. Emotional intensity. Repeated exposure to pain, crisis, and trauma.

Over time, these pressures can accumulate.

Renewing Rescuers creates something simple but often difficult to find inside the healthcare environment:

a moment to receive care.

No commute.
No virtual meeting.
No long appointment.

Our mobile team comes directly to hospital staff, creating an accessible restorative space where employees can participate as their schedules allow.

For hospitals, this means bringing meaningful wellness support directly into the work environment.

For donors and sponsors, it means helping make these experiences available to healthcare workers and organizations that may not otherwise have access to them.

What We Bring Into the Hospital

Tui Na

A hands-on practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that can support relaxation and address everyday areas of muscular tension, especially in the head, neck, shoulders, and back.

Ear Acupressure Seeds

A gentle Traditional Chinese Medicine-based practice using specific points on the ear as part of a calming wellness experience.

Healing Harp & Sound

Live harp creates a shift in the environment, inviting staff to slow down, listen, and reset.

Aromatherapy

Thoughtfully selected aromas help transform an everyday hospital space into one that feels calmer and more restorative.

Meditation & Tao Calligraphy Practices

Guided experiences incorporating Love Peace Harmony Calligraphies invite participants to pause, breathe, reconnect, and cultivate greater inner steadiness.

More Than Another Workplace Wellness Presentation

Renewing Rescuers is experiential.

We do not simply talk about stress management.

We create an environment in which people can experience a shift.

Our approach is:

Integrative.
We bring together Traditional Chinese Medicine-inspired practices, mind-body wellness, sound, meditation, and sensory experience.

Hands-on.
Staff experience the practices directly.

Trauma-informed.
Participation is invitational, respectful, and centered around choice, safety, and ease.

Culturally responsive.
Our work grows from Compassionate Transformation Community’s commitment to cultural understanding, community connection, and harmony.

Human.
Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer someone who spends their day caring for others is the experience of being cared for themselves.

A Moment of Renewal Can Matter

We want participants to leave feeling:

Calmer.
More relaxed.
Less physically tense.
More supported.
More connected to themselves and one another.

We do not pretend that the pressures of healthcare disappear in one afternoon.

We create meaningful moments of restoration within the environment where those pressures actually happen.

And those moments can ripple outward.

When caregivers are given opportunities to replenish themselves, they can return to their work with greater steadiness, presence, and connection.

Designed Around the Reality of Hospital Life

Renewing Rescuers typically comes into a hospital or department for approximately three hours.

Our team sets up on-site and staff participate as schedules and responsibilities allow.

The program can support physicians, nurses, residents, behavioral health teams, social workers, administrative staff, support personnel, individual departments, or broader employee wellness initiatives.

It can be offered as a special event or return throughout the year as part of an ongoing wellness program.

One Program. Two Ways to Make an Impact.

Bring Renewing Rescuers to Your Hospital

Hospital leaders, department managers, employee wellness teams, and community benefit programs can bring Renewing Rescuers directly to the people they serve.

Create a few hours in which the people carrying enormous responsibility are given permission to receive.

Help Bring Renewing Rescuers to More Caregivers

You do not need to work in a hospital to care for the people who do.

Individuals, foundations, corporations, grantmakers, and community supporters can help expand Renewing Rescuers to more healthcare workers throughout Southern California and beyond. Your support helps extend these restorative experiences to the people caring for our communities every day.

A contribution can help us expand the reach of the program, serve additional hospital departments, return more frequently, and bring Renewing Rescuers into communities where resources for staff wellness may be limited.

Already Serving Southern California Healthcare Workers

Renewing Rescuers has already been brought to healthcare workers at LA General Medical Center and Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, including outreach serving psychiatric hospital staff.

Previous events have included approximately 15 to 20 hospital employees, with participants receiving Tui Na, ear seeds, aromatherapy, healing harp and sound, and experiences incorporating Love Peace Harmony Calligraphies.

The response has led to invitations to return.

The People Behind Renewing Rescuers

Renewing Rescuers is a program of Compassionate Transformation Community, serving the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding Southern California communities.

Our multidisciplinary team brings together backgrounds in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and herbal medicine, anthropology, wellness education, professional music, Tao practices, and community service.

At the heart of the program is one shared belief:

When we care for the people who care for our communities, that care continues outward.

Help Care Travel Further

Imagine a hospital room transformed for a few hours.

A nurse steps away from the floor and receives Tui Na.

A physician sits quietly while harp music fills the room.

A social worker pauses long enough to breathe.

A staff member who has spent the entire day responding to other people’s needs is reminded:

You matter too.

That is what Renewing Rescuers creates.

And with the participation of hospitals, community partners, foundations, corporations, and individual supporters, we can create more of those moments for more caregivers.

Bring it to your hospital.

Help bring it to someone else’s.
